I think our cameras are still hot from Erin & Tyler's wedding. These two were so easy to work with, totally fun, really nice and awesomely good looking that we burned our shutters snapping! For this wedding I was able to team up with my good friend (and amazing photographer) Jenna Tye, who took some amazing photos throughout the day. Erin & Tyler came all the way from Manitoba to get married and we spent the early afternoon doing pictures before the ceremony (including a climb up a cliff for photos, nearly escaping a wet muddy dog - Erin is a girl after my own heart!). We love it when couples opt to do pics before the ceremony because it means we can really focus on them for a few hours and then we can do a more photojournalism approach for the rest of the wedding. It's a win-win situation since it also means couples can spend more quality time with their guests. They had both their ceremony and reception at the Brentwood Bay Lodge - a truly magnificent location - and there wasn't a dry eye in the house when they said their vows. Thank you again Erin & Tyler for including us in your wedding and congratulations once again!!

This is a very early sneak peek of one of the most amazing weddings we've ever attended (and we've photographed a lot of weddings!). We just photographed Andrea & Prashant's two-day Hindu-Western wedding last week but we know Andrea & Prashant want to have a quick sneak peek of their images so we're showing just a few for now. We'll be adding a lot more in a few days once we've had a chance to go through all of our images. Congratulations Andrea & Prashant and we're so thrilled you chose us to photograph your wedding!

Lisa & Ko

When I met with Lisa & Ko I knew they were going to have a super fun wedding. It was a beautiful day and the ceremony was very emotional. I even caught myself choking up at some points. After the ceremony, we ventured off to Ko's parents' house for a traditional tea ceremony. These two are very smart cookies and allowed a lot of time between the ceremony and reception for photos so we were able to get a tonne of variety and we were able to experiment a bit. Ko's favorite hockey team on the planet is the Philadelphia Flyers and it was fun to incorporate some romance and hockey in the photos. These two were so easy-going and wonderful to work with - and they look pretty phenominal in pictures too, don't you agree? Thanks again Lisa & Ko for including us in your wedding and congratulations once again!

Nagu & Colm

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Nagu & Colm's beautiful Hindu ceremony at the Sooke Harbour House. Their friends and family - and even their priest - came from all over Canada to be with them on their special day. Hindu weddings are supposed to take place outside under a canopy and that's exactly how they were married - on an amazingly gorgeous bright sunny day! The event was a magical feast for the eyes. Hindu ceremonies vary from celebration to celebration and Nagu & Colm chose several traditional elements - including Sanskrit verses, a fire ceremony and 'Saptapadi' or seven steps. When it came time for the ring exchange, they chose to honour Colmn's Irish ancestry with beautiful Celtic bands. Nagu & Colm are an extremely nice couple and all of their friends and family were so welcoming and happy. These two look so good in photographs that it was very difficult to choose just a few highlights for our blog. Congratulations Nagu & Colmn - we felt privileged to be a part of your day!
