Ashley & Geoff - Engagement Portraits

Ashley & Geoff were high school sweethearts and have been together 14 years! I loved that they wanted to go to Goldstream Park to have photos among the trees for their engagement shoot. We went hiking up to a train trestle (you can see in pictures that it's almost higher than the tree line), whereupon I learned that I need to get into better shape! LOL Ashley and Geoff are among the nicest people you could ever meet (and they're photogenic too)! I know they are going to make an awesome bride & groom this August!

Skip & Traci - Engagement Portrait

Skip & Traci have this chill, easy-going way about them that make it so easy to take their picture. We went out on Valentine's day, starting at the Star Wars wall (I love that they are Star Wars fans!). They were up for anything and we played around with reflections downtown before heading over to the ocean. The weather here has been downright obnoxiously beautiful and there were hundreds of people out enjoying the sunshine. We managed to find a few spots to take pictures without fighting for oceanfront space. LOL I'm really looking forward to their wedding in September. Judging from their engagement session, I know they're going to make a photogenic (and easy-going) bride & groom!

The Canoe Club

We've actually been doing a lot of commercial work lately, but we're just a little behind on our blog posts. Our most recent assignment was with the Canoe Club. We did some lifestyle stock work last week, in addition to some food photography a few months ago. Eunice was in absolute heaven, since her favorite thing to photograph (and actually, just her favorite thing in the whole world) is FOOD! Christina made the mistake of wearing a skirt to the most recent shoot, which was probably the first time she's ever done that... not realizing that the Canoe Club wanted someone to go up a shaky five-storey tall ladder (made of rope!) on a yacht in the marina (which is also owned by the Canoe Club) to take some overhead views of the building. Christina isn't afraid of heights, but Eunice is and she braved going up that shaky ladder because silly Christina wore that damned skirt!! Christina now owes Eunice BIG TIME! lol We're extremely proud of Eunice for going the extra mile and getting great shots as well! We had a lot of fun with the Canoe Club staff though and we think they chose some pretty hot models to pose for pictures. Eunice & Erin (our fantastic intern from the Saskatchewan Institute of Technology) photographed this gorgeous teenager to celebrate her highschool prom. When we first found out about how popular senior portraits are in the USA (almost every US highschool graduate gets one done) we were like, "why didn't we have that when we were graduating high school?" Senior portraits - which are basically a high-fashion magazine-inspired shoots - are a fantastic way to mark this important milestone (and it makes a really great gift for the highschool or university grad in your life!). We think India did a great job of channeling her inner movie star...Angelina Jolie, eat your heart out. Congratulations on your graduation India!
