MELISSA & BRENT GET MARRIED!!

Viva had so much fun working with Melissa & Brent this past year planning their October 9th 2010 wedding at the NAC. Melissa was a coordinators dream! Always keeping us in the loop, it was a sad week at Viva la wedding when an email from this fabulous bride didn't appear in our inbox. And the constant communication paid off. The end result was an absolutely flawless wedding day for this amazing couple. Here are a few images of the newlyweds captured by Ron of RZ Photo. Viva had never had the pleasure of working with Ron before and can happily say we're looking forward to collaborating on many more weddings in the future. Congratulations Melissa & Brent!!

PIE POPS! MMM, MMM GOOD!!

In the past Viva's blogged about wedding cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, and even cake shooters so we thought it was only fair to give pie a little love too. And what better way to do it than with these pie pops. Fill them with your favorite jelly or pureed fruit, seal the edges, then brush them with a little egg white before baking for that golden flaky texture. Mmm, mmm good!

Whether you display them with other tasty sweets on the dessert table at your wedding or wrap them up as favors for your guests to take home at the end of the night, they'll be hard to resist.

GOODBYE SUMMER, HELLO FALL

Fall arrived just over two weeks ago and while we usually start the season off with an inspiration post of warm Fall images to get you in the mood, we thought we'd save the inspiration for Thanksgiving weekend and keep this post short and sweet. With the summer behind us, Viva's looking forward to all our upcoming weddings this season! Happy Fall everyone!!

Alison & Steve's Wedding at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge - Sunshine Coast BC

Alison & Steve had a truly a coast-to-coast wedding since Steve & his family are from Newfoundland and Alison and her family are from the west coast. Steve is a total ham (in the best possible way) and he had me in stitches the entire day, meanwhile Alison has this amazing ability to put you at ease the minute you meet her. They are so relaxed and laid back and you just know they are going to make amazing parents. Their ceremony was set in one of the most beautiful natural places I've ever seen - the West Coast Wilderness Lodge in Edgmont, BC. The Sunshine Coast lived up to its reputation of having the best weather in the country and we had a wonderful, sunny day for the ceremony. The lodge is inaccessible by roads (I myself took two ferries) and it's worth the effort since it's so private and serene -- I even woke up the morning of the wedding to watch two eagles flying over head. The renowned event coordinators Lotus Events from Vancouver planned the day, which meant Alison & Steve could chill and spend quality time with their friends and family without fretting about details. We had dinner as the sun was setting in front of a gigantic picture window followed by a crazy-fun party. Everyone stayed on the dance floor throughout the night singing and dancing to some great tunes from a live band. I had a huge ear-to-ear grin looking through the photos to create the slideshow and blog post because I had so much fun photographing this wedding. Alison & Steve - a huge congratulations on your wedding and your baby-to-be!
